Nordic Response 24 showcases unmatched interoperability on land, sea, air

Nordic and Allied forces will demonstrate a unique level of cooperation and interoperability as they cross national borders on land, sea and air during Exercise Nordic Response 24 this weekend, March 9-10, 2024.
Led by Norwegian Defence Staff's deputy chief of staff for operations, Maj. Gen. Tonje Skinnarland, and U.S. European Command's deputy director for security cooperation, policy, partnering and space capabilities, U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Saber Guardian is an annual, U.S. Army Europe-led, multinational exercise, which takes place during the month of July in numerous locations across Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania, and is co-hosted by the land force components in those countries. Saber Guardian is the largest in size and scope since its inception in 2013. Though it is not a NATO exercise, hosting nations are all NATO members.

Capt. Michael Benson, the commander for Troop A, 5th Sqdn., 7th Cav. Rgmt., said the intent of the exercise was to replicate conditions on the battlefield and see if the Soldiers could still hit targets as their stress level increased. Though this wasn’t the first time the Troopers did a stress shoot, it was the first time doing it alongside their Hungarian allies.

YAVORIV, Ukraine – Exercise Rapid Trident 16 concluded today with a closing ceremony held at the parade grounds at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center in Yavoriv, Ukraine. The exercise is a multinational exercise designed to support military cooperation among Ukraine, the U.S., and 11 other Allied and partner nations involving about 2,000 military members which was held from June 27 – July 8.
