Baltic Ghost 2019 contributes to eFP posture

A clear and unambiguous demonstration of ally solidarity, determination, and ability to defend NATO’s population and territory against aggression

LEGIONOWO, Poland -- U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and Poland’s National Cyber
Security Centre will host Exercise Baltic Ghost, a table-top exercise (TTX) supporting enhanced
Forward Presence (eFP) June 25-27.

As part of a broader effort to strengthen NATO’s deterrence and defense posture, eFP is a clear and
unambiguous demonstration of ally solidarity, determination, and ability to defend NATO’s population
and territory against aggression.

Recognizing that cyberspace crosses all domains, Exercise Baltic Ghost promotes cooperation and
strengthens partnerships, which further enable coordinated responses to threats within the Baltic region.

The TTX challenged participating nations to identify the operational and strategic-level impacts of a
cyberattack and to work collectively in identifying appropriate cyber defenses needed to support
military operations.

During the exercise, cyberspace operations specialists successfully achieved consensus on incident
response actions, recommend procedures and policies from an eFP perspective.

Participating nations included Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, the U.K.
and U.S. Additionally, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland’s National Guard state partners of Illinois,
Maryland, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, respectively, will participate in the three-day event.
