STUTTGART, Germany – With more and more audiences getting their news from audio and video content, U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) is stepping up its communication efforts with a new program called “Inside USEUCOM.”  The program is designed to create greater awareness of the USEUCOM mission through interviews with command experts. Each episode features a discussion with a subject matter expert (SME) sharing their unique perspective, in their own words, emphasizing the complex nature of the USEUCOM mission.

"It's exciting to be a part of this new communication experience and have an opportunity to highlight how EUCOM is thinking in a 360 degree manner both inside and outside the European theater," said Col. Samuel Simpson, USEUCOM J9 directorate and guest on the podcast. "I appreciate having the opportunity to discuss how my team is working by, with and through our allies and partners on a daily basis to strengthen our comprehensive defenses and establish shared responsibilities."

The “Inside USEUCOM” series will feature two episodes each month, tied to activities and operations that are ongoing across the theater. Once the audio files are posted, a written transcript of the interview will also be posted to complement whichever format listeners and readers may prefer. The audio and transcript are available on the command website’s podcast page and on iTunes and Spotify. https://www.eucom.mil/inside-useucom

“Having our SMEs discuss key topics really enhances our story-telling ability,” said U.S. Navy Captain Wendy L. Snyder, chief of public affairs for USEUCOM. “”Publishing these podcasts with our SMEs demonstrates our commitment to transparency in all that we do to strengthen our strategic partnerships,” Snyder added.

The command has a diverse workforce with expertise ranging from HR to intelligence, to strategy and planning to logistics, to civil affairs and operations. This series creates opportunities for those who may be unfamiliar with the combatant command to gain a greater understanding of its mission.
