During Coronat Mask 2024, Soldiers with the 173rd Airborne Brigade's Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Reconnaissance Platoon joined more than 800 CBRN specialists from 13 NATO nations to exercise collective CBRN capabilities.

The exercise, the largest CBRN exercise in Europe, included hundreds of pieces of specialized equipment to hone CBRN defense capacity, strengthen multinational interoperability to respond to crisis, and share experiences and tactics. This was achieved through the formation of four, multinational training units to cooperate and perform tasks as one functional whole - a critical component in ensuring our ability to operate as one.

The U.S. regularly hosts and participates in multinational, large-scale training events alongside Allies and partners in Europe to exercise the full array of military capabilities. In this way the U.S. demonstrates the strength and capability of U.S. military forces, and commitment to work together to achieve common security goals.

Coronat Mask 2024, held in the first half of June 2024, was organized by the Czechia Armed Forces' 31st Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Regiment, home-based in Liberec, Czechia, in cooperation with the NATO Framework Nations Concept Cluster CBRN Protection.
